Abbie is a second year at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences on a pre-occupational therapy track where she intends to specialize in pediatrics. She has babysat since the age of 13 and has watched children as newborns and older. Her experience with children is well established, for she is the oldest of many young cousins and has even watched for families overnight. She truly enjoys spending time with the kids and being able to bring them joy through activities and play while they are together. In her free time, Abbie enjoys running, singing, writing, and spending time with her friends.

Being actively involved in Athens is a top priority for her, whether through Young Life, Wesley, or her church community. When babysitting, Addi enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks, doing crafts, and simply engaging with the children. She cares deeply for each child she babysits, treating them as if they were her own. She enjoys going on walks, actively participating in church and ministries, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She was also an assistant swim coach to children ages 4-6 for 2 years. She loves doing crafts, playing outside, baking, and staying active with the kids she babysits! Her experience with babysitting and her love for children led her to want to pursue nursing, in hopes of doing something with pediatrics. She also gained valuable experience working with students with disabilities at a specialized school, which sparked her passion for occupational therapy. Janya enjoys helping children explore their interests and encourages curiosity. In her free time, Janya loves to crochet, be with friends, and explore new places!

Julia is currently a junior studying finance at UGA. She is originally from 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. When she lived in Philly, she babysat families around her neighborhood. She loved playing games outside and coloring with the kids. Outside of babysitting, some of her favorite hobbies are skiing, going on morning walks, and trying new foods. Not only does she have experience babysitting, but she took a semester-long CPR and first aid course in high school.

She doesn’t normally have time to be creative, so she enjoys being creative with kids when she babysits by doing a craft or creative activity. She volunteered at camp this past summer with an occupational therapist who hosted a camp for kids with sensory processing challenges, and one of the things that stood out most was how important exercise is for kids. With that being said, going outside or playing a game is always a great idea!

She has worked with kids since she was 11 as an overnight camp counselor, babysitter, small group leader, and foster care advocate, working with kids ranging in age from newborn to 18, including many with allergies and/or special needs. She also has a particular passion for animals of all kinds, with a goal to open an equine rescue after graduation. During her time at UGA, she has been involved with the Phi Mu sorority, UGA Rescue Paws, and is currently serving on the executive board for UGA Miracle.
